Brief Description

The International Master’s Award of Excellence, valued at $2,500 per term for a maximum of five full-time terms within the permitted program time limits (6 terms), will be given to qualified international master’s students who are typically enrolling in a research-based graduate program at the University of Waterloo starting on May 1, 2019 (spring 2019 admissions cycle).

Based on the amount of awards allocated to the Faculty, faculties will recommend qualified students. Students will be chosen based on their applications for admission to the graduate program’s entrance requirements, which must exhibit academic distinction.

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the IMAE Scholaships at the University of Waterloo, Canada 2022-23

  • Grandparented students under the current IMSA program cannot be nominated for an IMAE, although students who have already received an IMSA for a master’s degree that has been successfully completed can.
  • Based on their admissions application, students will automatically be given consideration for this prize. The internal procedures through which departments and/or faculties choose recipients based on eligibility requirements and allocation are defined by them.
  • As necessary, faculties may set stricter eligibility requirements.
  • Based on the amount of awards allocated to the Faculty, faculties will recommend qualified students. Students will be chosen based on their applications for admission to the graduate program’s entrance requirements, which must exhibit academic distinction.
